What comes with a new screen

LCD Panel

Most LCD screens come as self-contained bare modules - panels, unless the listing's description states otherwise. Majority of the LCD modules (panels) contain the back-light, the LCD driver board and some kind of mountings. During the replacement such LCD module is installed in-place of the old broken/cracked one, and all other parts of the display assembly are to be reused, including the video cable, mounting rails, hinges, web-cams, microphones, bezels, screws and decorative covers.  The LCD panel does not include the video cable, and if your old video cable is broken, it would need to be ordered separately. Due to the limited availability and proprietary-unique nature of laptop video cables, they can be acquired in used condition on the usual market-place websites or from the laptop's manufacturer parts department.

LCD Panels arrive as pictured above: a bare module. Original parts such as video cable, web-cam, wi-fi antennas, mounting hardware, etc need to be reused.

Front half-assembly

Some replacement screens, especially for touch laptops, may come with additional parts such as frame, front glass touch screen digitizer and the LCD all as one piece. Our site will provide the description of the individual item, yet it is important to retain all unbroken parts of your laptop for eventual reuse during replacement. The top cover, hinges, mounting rails, web-camera, microphones and/or lights may not be included with the new half-assembly and will need to be reused.

Front Assemblies arrive as pictured above: a built up module, with LCD Panel attached to front glass digitizer, encased in a frame that is also the bezel of the laptop. Original parts such as video cable, web-cam, Wi-Fi antennas, mounting hardware, etc need to be reused.

Full-assembly (Hinge-up)

The more complex devices may require an entire display assembly to replace their cracked screens. This is very common for ultra light laptops, touch-screen laptops and convertible tablets. The listing's description will provide details for the specific parts, however in general display assemblies come self-contained with all the hook up wires such as video cable, web-cam, wi-fi/blue tooth antennae, microphone, etc on-board. Some may even contain hinges. In any case it is still important to retain all of the original parts of your laptop for the replacement process.

Full assemblies arrive as pictured above: a complete top-case of a laptop with everything included upto the hinges. Such parts would incldue a new video cable, web-cam, Wi-Fi & an BT antennas. Original mounting hardware needs to be reused.
